Join our sought-after Estimating Management Trainee Programme, where you'll be given the fantastic opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders across the business, developing your commercial knowledge relating to cost estimating and cost planning for work winning.  Learning to review and analyse information that relates to preparing and writing cost plans and estimates, you'll prioritise cost effectiveness and best working practices.

Using the knowledge and skills you've learnt on the programme, you'll:

  • Assist in producing cost plans and estimates for the bidding process of new projects.
  • Produce customer focussed responses and strategies for bid submissions, tailoring each response to the specific needs of each customer.
  • Compile electronic submissions of work, ensuring process is followed and necessary steps are taken.
  • Collaborate and engage with colleague and networks to develop your understanding of their area of work and responsibility.

Eligibility

To join our Trainee Management Programme via the Graduate route, you will have a motivation to learn and develop within the industry and you'll have obtained or be working towards a 2:2 degree in any subject area.

Our role in Manchester differs slightly in that you will require a Cognate Degree and will be working within our Cost Planning team, becoming trained in the role of Estimating / Cost Planning for a main contractor. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the early financial stages of our construction projects. You'll also require a full UK driving license as locations will require travel, stays away from home which will be fully expensed by Wates and advanced security checks.
