Job Description
Summer Internship Programme
Our Summer Internship is an 11-week programme providing you the opportunity to experience all that Visa has to offer alongside completing challenging work, building your skillset, and networking with fellow interns and Visa employees. Throughout the internship you will work on BAU work within your team, be given an end-to-end project to complete and take part in a variety of trainings to increase your learning. You will also get the opportunity to take part in a global social impact case challenge as well as hearing from senior leaders through our Visa Executive Speaker Series.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Corporate Legal and Governance team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity be exposed to a variety of projects and activity and learn from an experienced team at Visa. The intern will assist with various legal and governance-related tasks, gaining hands-on experience in corporate law, compliance, and risk management. This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a degree in law, business administration, or related fields to learn and grow in a professional environment.
Team Description
Legal, Ethics & Compliance are a diverse group of professionals managing the company's legal, ethics and compliance affairs. We provide advice and services to ensure business goals are successfully met, and that Visa's brand and reputation are protected whilst minimising legal liability and regulatory risk. Our leadership vision entails each legal and compliance professional living the guiding principles to be a proactive partner who never loses sight of their responsibility to protect the company.
The Corporate & Governance team spans Data Privacy, Corporate Law and Projects, Sourcing, Employment Law, Board Governance, and Entity Management working closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Day to Day Responsibilities
We have exciting opportunities for summer interns to join our team in London. Some things you might work on include:
- Assist in the preparation and review of legal documents, including powers of attorney, resolutions, etc.
- Conduct legal research and provide summaries on various data privacy, employment, sourcing, corporate governance and entity management issues.
- Support the team in ensuring compliance with corporate policies, regulations, and legal standards.
- Help organise and maintain corporate records, including governance documents.
- Coordinate with various departments to gather information and ensure legal and governance requirements are met.
- Support ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Corporate Legal and Governance team.
Qualifications
Visa are a talented team of 15,000 individuals with unique backgrounds, perspectives and experiences. Our qualifications to apply can be noted below:
- Permanent right to work in the UK
- Penultimate year of university (Graduating in 2026)
- Ability to work full time over the summer (June/July-Aug/Sept)
- Currently enrolled in a law degree program, or a related field (e.g., business administration, public policy).
- Strong interest in corporate law, governance, and compliance with excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
