Job Description

Our Summer Internship is an 11-week programme providing you the opportunity to experience all that Visa has to offer alongside completing challenging work, building your skillset, and networking with fellow interns and Visa employees. Throughout the internship you will work on BAU work within your team, be given an end-to-end project to complete and take part in a variety of trainings to increase your learning. You will also get the opportunity to take part in a global social impact case challenge as well as hearing from senior leaders through our Visa Executive Speaker Series.

The internship is just the beginning to what we hope will be a lasting career at Visa! If you are successful throughout your internship you could even secure a graduate role with us when you finish university.

Team Description

We are building a brand-new business for Visa! We are part of Visa’s new payments flow group and we are creating a new global team to launch Visa Government Solutions.

As citizens, we are all aware of the important and increasing roles the government play in our lives, something the recent pandemic has emphasized. As far as Visa’s strategy on capturing a share of new flows goes, Government payments are a significant part of it, be it the government making payments to suppliers or social payments in form of disbursements or even accepting tax and council payments from citizens. At the same time, Governments are leading the way in launching big innovations in payments (think CBDCs, open banking) and in dealing with the big challenges of our times (climate, sustainability). We are looking to partner with governments around the world as they drive ambitious plans in a variety of areas both payments and otherwise.

As the new VGS team, we will be leading the company efforts in developing our strategy, leveraging expertise in various groups around the company and developing comprehensive government solutions including Disbursements, SME Digitization, Government payments, Citizens paying governments, urban mobility, Tourism Insights or Central Bank Digital Currencies. We are also prioritizing markets for focus and enablement of specialized sales teams.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Support monthly/quarterly business reviews across the business. Drive consistency forecast accuracy and predictability against targets through business reporting, and process enhancements.
  • Identify, extract and present business performance data metrics to support VGS Leadership team decision-making processes
  • Support monthly scorecard consolidation, tracking performance, analysing the root causes, and using data to determine strategies and drive continuous process improvement
  • Support the VGS team with data analysis using Visa internal data analytics tools as well as ad-hoc external desktop research

Qualifications

  • Ability to work full time over the summer (June/July-Aug/Sept)
  • Pragmatic self-starter and commercially focused, with the ability to identify opportunities and propose solutions
  • Ability to thrive when initiatives are ambiguous or targeted
  • Flexibility and ability to adjust to new demands
  • Experience with trend analysis, d,ata extraction and visualisation using tools like Excel, PowerBI or Tablau
  • A passion for payments and an interest in the government segment
