The role & what you will be doing

Working as part of the European Legal team, in close collaboration with the in house commercial and litigation lawyers based in Hatfield, you will provide support to the wider Viatris business focusing especially on the activities in the UK and Ireland. Using exceptional organizational and time management skills you will be involved in a broad range of work including supporting with entity management and drafting and reviewing documents relating to commercial, manufacturing and R&D business units. You will also be responsible for assisting with the management of disputes impacting Viatris in Europe.

  • Supporting company secretarial task including Entity management, updating and maintaining corporate registers, budget tracking and external invoice and expense management.
  • Supporting UK and Ireland Commercial Business and Operational Activities such as preparing first drafts of contracts from templates and reviewing any third-party amendments proposals.
  • Working with business partners to provide first level support to deal with basic legal questions and queries.
  • Undertaking first level review of patient and/or HCP facing product information, educational material and marketing material.
  • Preparing supplemental and supporting documents (POA’s, LoI’s, Exec Summaries);
  • Tracking and co-ordinating document finalisation, signature / notarisation / legalisation, approval and storage / filing.
  • Supporting R&D Legal Activities including preparing first drafts of contracts from templates (CRO contracts, IIT, MSA/SOW’s, Research Services Agreement, Laboratory Services Agreement, NIS/Consultant NIS);
  • Supporting Litigation Team including Assisting with the development, management and coordination of claims and defenses;
  • Liaising directly with external counsel on matters and assisting with case strategy and drafting written submissions.
  • Providing extensive co-ordination and communication with internal legal and key Viatris business stakeholders.
  • Providing General Legal Support such as assisting on specific projects, reporting, legal budget development and oversight and co-ordinating external legal advice.

About your skills & experience

For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • Degree and relevant professional qualification
  • Experience as a paralegal - ideally in the in house environment
  • A good understanding of the pharmaceutical and/or scientific sector preferred
  • Good document administration and management skills
  • Ability to build and manage relationships across multiple countries
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion
