Get practice ready with Vets for Pets and Companion Care. Middlesborough Vets for Pets is looking for a new or recently graduated vet to join their team and our award-winning graduate scheme.

The practice is well established, partner owned for 14 years; flourishing with a wide variety of interesting medical and surgical cases. We have the usual day to day diagnostics such as otoscope, ophthalmoscope, tonopen, microscopy, glucometer, and in addition to this digital radiography, in house catalyst, lasercyte and sedivue, ultrasound and a good range of orthopaedic equipment.
Job description
You will be joining an established team led by Katherine Goldsbrough MRCVS (19 years qualified), including 4 Vets (one of which is 20 years qualified), 5 Nurses working to schedule 3, 2 student nurses & 2 Veterinary Care Assistants all fully supported by 4 Client Care Advisors.
You’ll be supported from day one by a dedicated mentor/Vet GDP Advisor, you’ll also be able to take paid leave to attend the varied CPD programme designed by vets specifically for new graduates. As you build your confidence in caring for pets and their owners, you’ll grow your own client base and see the continuity of cases with the support of your wider team. You won’t be in sole charge of cases until you’re ready.

With the added attraction of no OOH and no Sundays, this position can be flexed around what is important to you, working patterns are moldable, be it around childcare, study, certificate time or wellbeing, we acknowledge and respect everyone is individual and their needs will vary, whilst all focusing on the common bond of providing the best clinical care we can.
Up to a 4 day working week is proposed with the same day off each week, this is negotiable. Working 1 in 4 Saturday morning 9-12.30pm is part of the working rota.
As a standard on the Graduate Development Programme we offer a 2 year programme with no financial tie-ins, guaranteed starting salary of at least £34,000 per annum with reviews each year on programme, 10-12 clinical/non-clinical structure CPD days a year with covered travel costs, access to wellbeing support and free membership of wellbeing app and support with practice transfer should the need to arise.
