Why not start your career in a practice that’s been nominated Graduate practice of the year! Eastleigh Vets for Pets are proudly known for easing and truly supporting all graduates. If you would like to speak to our current graduate you are more than welcome.

What your first couple of weeks would look like

“Shadowing/ working with an experienced vet and getting used to the day to day running of the practice. When you feel confident, you can start seeing your own patients. We allow extra time and initially block off every other appointment. As you progress, we gradually move you onto a full appointment list (this is usually after many months).

You won’t need to do any OOH and we close Sundays and bank holidays. You would work 1;5 Saturdays 9-2. (closing at 1pm to the public). Initially you will have another vet on duty and then later have phone back up with either Mark or Sarah the Practice Owners, always ready to help on the end of the phone if needed. All breaks are paid and time off is given for CPD.”

Eastleigh is the place to enjoy the best of both rural and urban living. For those who embrace green living, the close proximity to the New Forest and South Downs National Parks will be a treat.

Joining one of our network of UK practices, you’ll train on the job with experienced Veterinary Partners and Practice Owners, at a pace that works for you. We’ll find you a role that suits you, in terms of location and culture fit. And, with Vets for Pets and Companion Care practices of all shapes and sizes across the country, there’s a perfect place for everyone!

With our support, and emphasis on your wellbeing, you can realise and maintain your full potential in an environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance too. You’ll be supported from day one by a dedicated Vet GDP Advisor, as well as the graduate and clinical teams, and online by 1,300+ vets within our clinical community.

You’ll also be able to take paid leave to attend the tailored CPD events we hold. The high-quality events we deliver as part of the programme usually comprise subjects such as practical dentistry, practical surgery, radiography, dermatology, cardiology, and more.

As you build your confidence in caring for pets and their owners, you’ll grow your own client base and see continuity of cases with the support of your wider team. You will have a phased approach to sole charge and better still, when you’ve finished the programme there’s a career waiting for you, either with the practice you trained at or within our wider community/network.
