If you are a Registered Veterinary Nurse looking for career development working alongside an inclusive and supportive team, and with the vibrancy of two brilliant cities on your doorstep, then Bromborough Vets for Pets is the practice for you!

About the role

Our practice is expanding and provides excellent facilities, and we have a varied caseload including orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, digital X-ray, dentals and lots of exotic work along with interesting medical cases. Take a tour of our practice here to see more. We are fortunate to have a fantastically hard-working and dedicated reception team meaning our nurses are free to carry out their roles to their full ability and work closely alongside our vet team. You’ll have your own consults, work in the kennels looking after any hospitalised inpatients and carry out theatre prep and theatre work. With so many learning opportunities available, there’s plenty of ways to develop your interests and skills.

You’ll be joining a tight-knit team that actively support one another and enjoy each other’s company. We want you to enjoy coming to work but we know life can be hard sometimes, and our practice is a safe space to share thoughts and problems and to try and help pick one another up. We can’t wait to welcome another nurse into our team who shares our values and is passionate about being at the heart of our local community.

We’re in a great location on the Croft Retail Park with ample parking, great access to local amenities and a few minutes’ walk to views over the River Mersey. Excellent transport links on the M53 provides easy access to the town, while rail links give a straightforward journey to the cities of Chester, Liverpool and onto Manchester, as well as connecting you with the rest of Wirral. In fact, we’re so central, you can even be in Wales within half an hour.

Bromborough is a real hot bed for entertainment and shopping, but the town is also blessed with green spaces, with both large public playing fields and the beautiful Dibbinsdale Local Nature Reserve. Being a peninsula, Bromborough is surrounded by three beaches, each with a very different feel. Nearby Chester can offer you a steady paced day out with lots of Roman ruins and museums along with quaint, quirky shops and café bars. Whereas if you yearn for the bright lights of city life, Liverpool is for you, riding high from staging the fantastic Eurovision event and providing an abundance of culture.

Along with a competitive salary, we offer all the standard benefits you’d expect from a major employer (pension, healthcare, paid memberships, competitive salary etc.) plus a few more, such as excellent career progression, exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts (up to 30% off at Pets at Home).

You should have excellent customer service and communication skills, and a good experience of veterinary nursing with a genuine interest in animal welfare, enjoying the variety provided by the clients and colleagues alike.
