Vertex is looking for enthusiastic, curious and dedicated students to join our International Haematology team for a one-year industrial placement.  This based position is located at our International HQ based at Paddington, London.  Applicants should be undertaking a relevant degree qualification and ideally have a strong interest in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry.

Role Description

The International Heme Business Unit leads the commercial launch strategies and activities for the first hemoglobinopathy gene editing product Vertex will launch across the International region. The candidate would gain knowledge of the process of commercialising a Cell and Gene Therapy.

During Industrial Placements you will get the opportunity to learn about our industry from a hands-on perspective. You will be working closely with and learning from some of the brightest people in the industry. Students can expect to be challenged by their work, connect with other students, and feel valued by the Vertex community.

Person Specification

  • Currently enrolled in a life science or business-related university qualification (e.g. Data Science, Marketing, Business Management)
  • Interest in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Must be independently motivated and a strong team player
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills
  • Good written, communication, project management and presentation skills
  • Evidence of ability to meet deadlines

1.    Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
