What you'll be doing

The purpose of this internship is to assist in maintaining and improving Veolia UK and Ireland's internal controls and compliance management system. As an intern, you will support the team in monitoring, analysing, and reporting on compliance-related matters while gaining valuable experience in business process and financial risk management.

Key responsibilities

This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in internal controls and compliance management within a leading environmental services company. You'll work alongside experienced professionals and develop valuable financial analysis, reporting, and business process improvement skills.

  • Assist with compliance monitoring and reporting to help identify control gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Support the finance community by helping to prepare training materials and awareness resources.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of existing compliance monitoring and reporting systems.
  • Help gather and organise evidence for key controls and compliance measures.
  • Assist in the annual controls audit process, including data collection and basic analysis.
  • Support the team in preparing data for external auditors and help with basic process explanations.

What we're looking for

  • Current student or recent graduate in finance, accounting, law, maths, economics, data analytics or any other related field
  • Good understanding of Google Suite and basic Excel skills, including data formatting and simple formulas
  • Good communication skills, an analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • Eagerness to learn and develop professional skills
