The A-Side: A day in the life
Come and join us in a Junior Visual Streaming Manager role and optimise YouTube strategy for our artists. This includes a wide range of duties from housekeeping, best practice implementation, data analysis and creative campaigns.
The individual should have experience working with and fully optimising YouTube channels and be able to help us truly master the platform.
We are looking for a fun-loving music person with an excellent attitude and communication skills.
The B-side: skills & experience
Responsible for the maintenance, development and monetisation of all our Artist’s YouTube channels and catalogue.
Be functional
- Maintaining an ‘Always On’ content & audience-building strategy across the UMG roster
- Housekeeping/maintenance of artist channels across the entire roster including:
- Thumbnails
- Playlists
- Official Artist Channels
- Community Tab
- Tags/Titling/Descriptions
- Cross-artist playlist structure i.e. to cross-promote other relevant UMG artist videos
- Oversee appropriate new UMG video output for BBFC clearance
- Choosing new videos from across the labels to push to youth audiences and arranging clean edits if required (for BBFC PG rating)
- Identifying relevant UGC creators on the platform to collaborate with to amplify our releases and tap into new audiences
Be insightful & strategic
- Analyse all artist channels with a focus on demographics, subscriber growth, engagement, sentiment and international impact
- Content strategy & timeline – understanding what types of content work for an artist channel and if these are being served to the artist audience at the right frequency
- Building & maintaining audience communities
- Work closely with our in-house media planning /buying team & marketing managers to build effective spend campaigns and analyse post-event on best performing content rollouts
- Further champion our ‘hero’ content pieces i.e. taking the music video and creating additional wider reaching content (trailers, fan videos, fan reactions, secondary music videos etc)
- Work closely with Streaming/Digital/Marketing to support and inform artist & manager meetings
- Overseeing new metadata for “family” versions and having these uploaded to our Youth partners
- Analysing viewing data and optimising video curation accordingly
Person specification
- Knowledge of the YouTube platform beyond just Music
- Digital native across all social platforms – including having run their own YouTube channel
- Proven success at audience growth on the YouTube platform itself
- Be able to ‘translate’ this data into actionable insights for Artist Campaign managers, content teams, streaming/audience growth teams & International Marketing
- A competent and confident individual who can report data insights directly to all label departments in a digestible and effective manner.
