The A side: a day in the life
Commercial Affairs is a central function that provides informed operational support, campaign project management and solutions to problems or issues across UMG’s established eCommerce markets; it also helps in adding to strategies already developed by local markets. With a global ‘eCommerce first’ mandate from UMG senior management, the stated aim is to grow the channel, maximise revenue and enrich the fan experience with the best selection of music and merchandise products.
The B side: skills & experience
Be collaborative
- Work closely with all global store management teams, international marketing, label teams and brand managers, to assist in the coordination and execution of global eCommerce stores and product strategies. This will include:
- Monday.com: utilise a project management tool to enter all campaign assets and associated communication
- Reporting: compile detailed weekly reports that include not only sales data but conversion rates and all relevant analytics on active eCommerce campaigns for weekly distribution to all stakeholders
- Supply Chain Liaison: working with the supply chains within Universal to ensure stock availability and allocations amongst the territories.
- Market calls: co-ordinate a weekly cadence of update calls with all UMG eCommerce markets, including the sending of an agenda ahead of all calls. You will also follow up with detailed call notes
- Analysis: using available data, you will help establish the criteria and strategy for international store launches and associated product sets
- Stores: gather and review ‘staging stores’ from the markets for all new or revised store launches; cross checking that they conform to all design briefs and that all assets have been used appropriately before sending them for approval to management or international marketing teams
- Marketing: ensure that all international commerce campaigns are integrated into label and Bravado marketing/cRM/digital/social activations where possible, ensuring that they drive traffic, awareness and sale
- Cross functional: you will work across the wider commercial affairs team integrating into the release planning process, ensuring that eCommerce is prioritised in all release strategies and keeping all other members of the team informed
