It's an exciting time to join the team at ARU Students' Union! Due to the expansion of the team, we're recruiting a Junior Graphic Designer. In this role, you'll play an essential role creating marketing materials for our onsite bars, cafes and shops across all campuses. You will collaborate with other members of our team on various design projects, working closely with our Graphic Designer.

What you'll be doing

  • Collaborate with the Students’ Union commercial team to understand project requirements and develop creative concepts that align with the project’s objectives.
  • Create high-quality, eye-catching designs for traditional and digital marketing.
    • Ensure all designs adhere to the brand guidelines and maintain consistency across all visual elements.
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining the highest quality standards.
    • Communicate effectively with teams throughout the Students’ Union to understand their needs, present design ideas, and incorporate feedback into final designs.
    • Stay up to date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies in the graphic design industry to continuously improve and produce innovate design solutions.
    • Work closely with the Graphic Designer and marketing team to ensure deadlines are met.

    What we're looking for

    • Understanding of the hospitality industry's unique design needs and consumer behaviour.
    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant graphic design software.
    • Creative flair and a keen eye for detail.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of people from different teams.
    • Effective organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work.
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements.

    Where will you be working?

    This role will be based at the Cambridge or Chelmsford Campus, travelling to either campus is required.
