Do you want to know more about risk and financial resource management in a bank?

UBS Group Treasury is hiring! We are looking for a summer intern to join the XVA Derivatives Optimisation desk. We are seeking innovative and inquisitive minds that want to apply technology, data analytics and new techniques to traditional Treasury activities, enabling UBS’ strategic ambitions and purpose.

In the Treasury Summer Internship Program you’ll:

  • Get to know how Treasury manages the liquidity & funding requirements across the Group
  • Gain familiarity with financial products used to manage a broad range of credit and market risks
  • Larn all about how Treasury works as an organisation, acting as the interface between the Business Divisions and Functions
  • Develop your skills analysing complex situations and creating the best strategy to maximize our stakeholders’ diverse objectives
  • Learn how to combine risk management skills with the capacity to understand how our bank balance sheet operates

Your team

You will be working as part of the Group Treasury team based in London. Group Treasury is responsible for the efficient management of UBS's financial resources and during your program you will be working with the XVA Derivatives Optimisation desk. The desk is responsible for the risk management of valuation adjustments relating to funding and collateral optionality, along with derivative resource optimization.

The team engages in

  • Pricing and risk managing XVAs for derivatives across all asset classes
  • Identifying and executing transactions to optimise Initial Margin and other scarce resources
  • Evaluating portfolios in order to advise both internal and external clients on the associated XVAs and scarce resource consumption, with respect to both new and future regulations

Your expertise

You need to be in the penultimate or final year of your studies and be on track for a 2.1 (UK grading system) or equivalent in your first undergraduate / bachelor degree.

It doesn't matter what you're studying (really, it doesn't).

We would like to see evidence that you can

  • Analyze a problem, take a view and come to a decision
  • Be comfortable with numbers
  • Plan, organize and communicate well
  • Stick with a task
  • Work in a team
  • Come up with ideas

Perhaps you've organized a fundraising event or taken part in team sports? Or persevered and passed an exam in a subject you found challenging? Think about how your achievements match the skills we are looking for

Your program

On this 10 week summer program, you’ll be a real part of the team, working with our experts and learning about the industry, our clients, our firm and a specific area of it. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to develop new skills and make contacts. And if you impress us, we might invite you to join our Graduate Talent Program once you’ve graduated.
