What would my responsibilities be?

You will contribute to the development of designs for new streets, helping to make it easier to walk and cycle for everyone, as part of an integrated transport network for Wales. These designs will form the key documents that are provided to construction contractors to reconstruct streets, enabling more active transport choices for people of  all ages, genders and abilities.

Are there any essential requirements?

  • A degree/degree apprenticeship in urban design, civil engineering, highway/transport engineering, landscape architecture, or similar qualification in a built environment discipline.
  • Communication skills using graphical, written and spoken communication forms.
  • The ability to persuasively articulate the benefits of well-designed streets and places.
  • A technical interest in designing streets that make it easier to walk, wheel and cycle for everyday trips.

Welsh language skills

We welcome people who can speak or write in Welsh, but it’s not essential for this role.
