The TLT Vacation Scheme is a two-week paid work experience programme whereby you will work on live legal work under the supervision of a fee-earning member of staff. The Vacation Scheme is designed to provide you with an insight into the life of a Trainee Solicitor at TLT, working with our clients to provide a range of legal services.
No two days will be the same, however, your time with TLT will consist of: working on live cases; attending meetings; attending court/events with your team; reviewing documentation; attending social events; and really just experiencing our culture first-hand.
Those who attend the Vacation Scheme will be considered for a Training Contract with TLT. In England, TLT is now committed to the SQE as a route to qualification and will only facilitate and sponsor studying this with our preferred Training Provider; those who hold the LPC will be exempt from the SQE 1 examination. From time to time we may have earlier start dates available based on business need, the Early Careers team will discuss this opportunity with you at offer stage based on the information provided on your application. Those in Scotland will undertake the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice.
Our minimum requirements are:
- Penultimate year/final year law student*; or
- Final year non-law student or graduate from any discipline (PGDL will be required prior to commencement of SQE prep course);
- 2:1 degree (obtained or predicted)
*In Scotland our Vacation Scheme is open to Law Students/Graduates/Accelerated LLB students only.
