The role
The Bid Management team work on both new business opportunities and the process of keeping current clients. This involves engaging with senior stakeholders across Tilbury Douglas to ensure that timelines are met, content is delivered, tailored, and presented.
The role will provide you with the opportunity to work on providing the technical content for the bid. In addition to this you will work with the design team to ensure a polished and professional final product. You will have the opportunity to get to know Tilbury Douglas and build your network across the entire business.
At its core the role centres around bid planning, stakeholder management, and content creation in which you will learn about the full bid management process and subsequently ensure its successful delivery.
What you will be doing
- Undertake bid and project management activities in support of the Bid and Project Management Team to ensure the successful delivery of the project
- Prepare bid documentation such as pre-qualification and tender documents
- Assist with the creation of bids and proposals
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of the project schedule; generate, maintain and monitor the progress of work packages; establish the schedule impact of work being complete/not complete against project milestones
- Support with updating budgetary information; updating resource information and validating the derived resource profiles
- Provide assistance for the provision of governance and support on project schedule generation, structuring and reporting
- Administer and maintain the project risk and opportunity register
- Provide support in performance measurement and variance reporting
- Provide assistance to the Bid Manager and their team for the extraction and coordination of data for reporting or analysis purposes
- Help to establish best practices and procedures for win-work activity, encompassing account planning, opportunity capture planning, proposition development and bid management
- Support and identify the creation of new bid materials
- Respond to ad-hoc marketing queries and requests for information
Entry requirements
- Holds a degree in a relevant subject such as Business Management, English, Sales and Marketing or Engineering, Construction, (or derivative of) with a 2:2 classification and above or expected to achieve on graduation in 2025
- Holds a full UK driving licence or will hold a full UK driving licence by August 2025. Expect exciting travel opportunities to various construction sites and project locations.
What we look for from you
- Experience gained from a year in industry or summer placement (with a Construction or Civil Engineering Contractor -highly desirable)
- Strong written and verbal communication are key for this role, and the ability to interact with a lot of different people.
- Ideally you will have an inquisitive mindset and a passion for precision and accuracy.
- You are an organised person who thrives on deadlines and structure.

- Be committed, organised and show a good work ethic.
- Possess excellent general IT skills with experience of MS packages e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word (essential).
- Ability to write clear and precise reports and to relate complex information simply to a diverse range of people.
- Ability to work in a multi-functional and dynamic team environment assisting with the smooth running of a variety of projects.
- Self-motivated with the enthusiasm to learn and develop.
