Based at the High Temperature Research Centre, Ansty, the post holder will undertake all:

  • Additive Technician Position within a varied team.
  • Material mixing
  • Processing builds across a variety of Machines
  • Cleaning
  • Testing
  • Provide cover to neighbouring operations
  • To ensure delivery of all project work to quality, time and cost requirements.

Main responsibilities

  • Collation of trial data - Gather and summarise agreed data recorded during manufacturing trials. This can include dimensional data, yield information, defect data, photographs and output from material testing.
  • Conduct additional analysis of trial data using methods developed by Research Fellows and Research Engineers.
  • Ensure work runs to schedule
  • Data reporting and analysis – Microsoft package summaries of data collected.

  • Process components through the operations in accordance to technical instructions; conduct QC testing of mixes in accordance to laboratory standard operating procedures.
  • Day to day running, organisation and maintenance of the laboratory equipment associated with the activities of the additive cell.

Desirable skills/qualifications/experience

Ability to use a wide range of laboratory equipment including but not limited to:

  • Furnace operation;
  • Twin plate rheometers;
  • Particle size analysers, Mechanical testing at both ambient and elevated temperatures.
  • Experience working in a R&D environment
  • STEM based education
  • Full UK driving license
