Opportunity

Ransomes Jacobsen Ltd (part of Textron Specialized Vehicles) are seeking a Compliance Intern at our facility in Ipswich, Suffolk. In Ipswich, we design, manufacture, and distribute turf maintenance equipment under the brands of Ransomes and Jacobsen.

An ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate strong desire to work in a compliance environment. The projects and tasks you will work on will be varied, allowing you to gain a broad understanding of the function.

You will assist in ensuring all products meet regulatory requirements and company standards, while managing compliance-related projects, supporting testing, and coordinating with various teams.

Responsibilities 

  • Work with International Compliance Manager to learn and apply product compliance requirements for commercial turf care and airport ground support equipment;
  • Areas of compliance include, but are not limited exhaust emissions, electrical and mechanical safety, radio devices, electro-magnetic interference and resistance, chemical, packaging, end of life/circular economy and overall sustainability;
  • Learn and apply compliance procedures and documentation, regulations and standards that pertain to TSV vehicles;
  • Support compliance testing, including hands on setup, report writing, documentation and review of test data;
  • Working/coordinating with in house and outside test sources;
  • Managing compliance related projects with oversight from International Compliance Manager and following up with cross functional teams to hit overall development plan goals;
  • Requires application electrical and mechanical engineering principals, technical writing, research of regulations and standards;
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications, skills & experience required

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering;
  • Prior internships/work experience is advantageous;
  • Self-motivating and able to work with low levels of supervision to defined objectives;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with good attention to detail;
  • Team player;
  • You should have an innovative mindset and have a drive to make transformational changes.
