Role purpose and overview

The Digital Publishing team sits at the heart of The Telegraph’s digital operations. The team has editorial responsibility for many of the publishing tools and platforms used in the newsroom. We also work closely with many other departments in the business including Technology, Product, and design in developing new features and products and improving our existing ones. Additionally, the team is focused on constantly looking for new areas of our digital publishing strategy to improve and innovate to ensure we are engaging both new audiences and our existing subscribers.

Key responsibilities

  • In this role, you will support The Telegraph newsroom in its day-to-day digital publishing operations
  • You will work independently, and collaboratively, with various desks in the newsroom as well as other departments including Technology, Product and Design
  • As part of the Digital Publishing team, you’ll be an important voice on many of the tools, platforms and technologies used in The Telegraph’s digital operations
  • You will help implement and roll out new features, upgrades and products in The Telegraphnewsroom and the wider business
  • You’ll help improve the efficiency and quality of the digital production processes at TheTelegraph

Essential skills required for the role

  • An interest in publishing tools and understanding workflows [essential]
  • An interest in digital publishing, apps and understanding how to engage readers [essential]
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working collaboratively with multiple departments and/or stakeholders [Essential]
  • Experience using content management systems and publishing tools including AdobeExperience Manager (AEM) and Trello [desirable]
  • Proven willingness to think outside of the box and go the extra mile in order to produce the very best results (Desirable)
  • An interest in studying and understanding data to inform decisions [desirable]
  • Ability to both collaborate and work independently, and work to tight deadlines [essential]
  • Demonstrable knowledge of The Telegraph audience and a passion for news and current affairs [desirable]
