As a growing drug discovery organisation, we are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, talented individuals keen to carry out their year-long industrial placements beginning in August 2025. These will take place at our facilities located in Nottingham.

The role

The DMPK department at Sygnature Discovery is looking for talented undergraduates to join our DMPK teams in Nottingham and/or Alderley Park, Cheshire to engage in a year of invaluable experience within a drug discovery DMPK environment. You will join a dynamic department actively involved in the discovery of new drugs across a broad range of projects, molecular targets and therapeutic indications. The DMPK aspects of drug discovery covers several skillsets including in vitro ADME assays through to in vivo PK and bioanalysis utilising LC/MS/MS technology to modelling and simulation to aid in the early prediction of human PK and effective clinical doses.

During your time you will become familiar with the planning and execution of DMPK studies to understand the absorption, metabolism, distribution, and excretion (ADME) of drug candidates and how data are analysed, interpretated and reported while building strong, effective working relationships with the DMPK team. The focus of these studies can be directed towards the focus of a project that will be carried out to fulfil the requirements necessary to complete your undergraduate studies.

Your mentor will also stay in regular contact with your academic supervisor to ensure all course requirements for the placement are met.

Key requirements

  • Enrolled on a related undergraduate degree program with a “Year in Industry” component e.g. Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or related discipline.
  • Interest in the planning and execution of DMPK studies.
  • Equipped with excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work well within a team environment.
