Sygnature Discovery is the UK’s largest independent provider of integrated drug discovery resource and expertise. As a growing organisation, we are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, talented individuals keen to carry out their year-long industrial placements beginning in August 2025. These will take place at our facilities located in Nottingham or Alderley Park, Cheshire.
As a Bioscience IP student at Sygnature Discovery, you will work alongside your own personal mentor who will provide practical training and guidance, covering all aspects of the laboratory-based role.
We perform a wide variety of assays, ranging from biophysics and enzymology to cell imaging and phenotypic function, and successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on real-world internal projects during their time with us. You will also have continual opportunities to develop and apply creative approaches to problem solving.
Your mentor will also stay in regular contact with your academic supervisor to ensure all course requirements for the placement are met.
Core requirements
- Enrolled on a Bioscience-related (Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Pharmacology etc.) degree program with a “Year in Industry” component.
- Passionate about Bioscience and its practical application to drug discovery and development.
- Showing good understanding of common laboratory techniques used in Bioscience environment.
- Equipped with excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work well within a team environment.
As part of inductions, you will receive instruction on local HS&E policies and full training on all equipment and processes prior to initiation of project. The expectation is that the majority of your time with Sygnature Discovery will be devoted to the lab-based work.
