We are looking for a new member of our Content and Discovery Team within Library Services at the St George’s School of Health and Medical Sciences (Tooting).

This role supports the ordering, processing and management of library content (journals and books in both physical and electronic formats), the provision of our interlibrary loan and scanned texts services and offer frontline support to students and staff at our Library Helpdesk and via email.

Overall purpose of job

To provide administrative support to the Content and Discovery team to maintain services including:

  • The acquisition and processing of books and e-books
  • Renewal of journal, database and e-resource subscriptions
  • Interlibrary loans
  • Scanned readings service
  • Support service development relating to the library management system, library discovery tool and reading list system

To support the provision of frontline library services working at our Helpdesk assisting readers with circulation, other basic queries, and returning used items to library shelves.

Key attributes of the successful applicant include

  • Graduate with an interest in pursuing a career in librarianship
  • Some experience in an academic or health sciences library
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective team member and ability to work alone
  • Good attention to detail
