Job Description

St Andrew’s Healthcare is a leading charity providing specialist mental healthcare services. We work in partnership with a number of NHS, voluntary, educational and research organisations to deliver a range of specialist inpatient and community mental healthcare services, education and research that helps to improve the lives of people with complex mental health needs.

To deliver our services we need the best Nurses who are committed to promoting hope and recovery and evidenced based nursing. To do this we need a diversity of professionals and therefore have opportunities for Newly Qualified Nurses across the mental health, learning disability and adult pathways. Our focus on both physical and mental healthcare provides valuable opportunities to all Nurses to consolidate and develop new nursing knowledge/skills during your preceptorship period.

At St Andrew’s Healthcare we acknowledge that the transition from Student to Registered Nurse requires support. If you join the charity you will have access to a bespoke preceptorship programme over 9-12 months, supported by a designated expert practice development team and a bespoke module in mental health nursing practice* (*for Adult Nurses).

St Andrew’s Healthcare is also proud of its offer for continual professional development and has a wide range of post registration/graduate opportunities for Nurses. Just ask us more about these. We are confident that you will develop fantastic knowledge, skills and practices in our environment, supported by our experienced and knowledgeable Nurses, Allied and other Professionals.

We also understand that work-life balance and flexibility is important for Newly Qualified Nurses. We are supportive to those nurses who would prefer to work flexible working hours to support shifts across a part and full time rota in a division. Please let us know your preferences when applying!

Finally, as a national provider of specialist services, we welcome applications from Students who have studied NMC approved programmes at Universities across the United Kingdom and/or have recently completed their NMC Test of Competence (International Nurses).
