We are looking for internship candidates who are interested in learning more about a career in commercial strategy consulting with a specific focus on Transaction Services & Private Equity. We have entry level Consultant positions available for top performing interns upon completion of the internship. You must be graduated and looking for full-time employment to be eligible to apply.
The role
Internships within Transaction Services usually last around 8 weeks and are designed to expose individuals to working on client projects. Interns can expect responsibility from the outset as a valued member of the project team. Throughout your time at Simon-Kucher, you will contribute to analysis and results and can benefit from working alongside experienced Consultants, Directors and Partners. Whilst commercial due diligence will be the key focus of the team, we work collaboratively with other parts of Simon Kucher, and therefore you will have the opportunity to also work on non-deal engagements; in areas such as M&A strategy, market reviews, revenue growth, pricing, marketing efficiency and digital strategy. Projects tend to be relatively short (average length of 3-4 weeks), providing the chance to learn lots and work with many different clients in many different sectors.
Simon-Kucher is growing. This results in an entrepreneurial and inspiring work environment with lots of responsibilities and a steep learning curve. Internships are the main route we use to recruit entry level Consultants to our London office, so if you perform well during your time as an intern there is the real opportunity to continue your career with us.
What you bring
- A strong interest in Transactions Services & Private Equity Consulting, supporting leading mid and large-cap PE clients, as well as corporates, to invest in the right businesses, addressing interesting questions such as:
- How large is this market, how fast is it growing and how will it develop in the future?
- Is this company winning, and if so, how is it taking market share from its competitors?
- How satisfied are customers, and what is the potential for future up-sell versus risk of losing customers?
- Can the business achieve its revenue growth targets?
- How can growth of this business be accelerated over the next 3-4 years?
- How would this market and business perform in a recession?
- A strong academic background, including degree level study at 2:1 or higher
- Excellent communication skills
- High percentile numeric, verbal and inductive reasoning skills
- A strong desire to work in a fast paced commercially agile environment
- Enthusiasm, curiosity and a belief that you can achieve the best results
We offer internships to candidates from a variety of undergraduate subject backgrounds, though it is more common for Consultant interns to have a STEM or management subject background – what you bring with you enables you to thrive and helps us to continue to grow. Exposure to consulting within a student society is not required, but you will need to evidence your interest in commercial strategy and Transaction Services clearly in your application.
