What we’re looking for

Are you a recent graduate, or undergraduate who’s opted for a placement within their degree course? Would you be interested in starting your journey with us as a Software Engineer?

We invite you to join us in July 2025 for 1 year in the industry in our Development Tools Department. Here you will be working alongside expert software developers and testers on the next generation of tools used in the development and testing of Siemens software.

This could be working within a team as part of a larger project, or more autonomously on a smaller area accompanied by guidance and coaching from your manager and colleagues around you.  If you are studying towards a STEM degree and have an interest in programming and/or tooling, then we would love to hear from you!

What you’ll be doing

  • Working on projects relating to tools to improve developer efficiency and quality.
  • Developing your knowledge across a range of scripting and programming languages.
  • Learning about hardware virtualization and continuous development in a commercial environment.
  • Gaining experience with our build, software development and testing processes.
  • Supporting a global software development and quality team.

Research and development areas include

  • Designing next generation cloud-based applications to validate code quality.
  • Using AI/ML to provide insight into our metadata to help improve efficiency.
  • Enhancements to existing techniques for developing and testing software.
  • Investigating new tooling and processes.
  • Developing Visual Studio Code extensions to support development activities.
