It is an exciting time to be joining the railway in the UK as new electrification projects are authorised and plans to decarbonise the railway gather momentum. Siemens are at the forefront of new technologies enabling decarbonisation giving you the opportunity to learn from the subject experts. The work will include undertaking outline and detailed design of railway electrification systems, initially under the supervision of experienced engineers but rapidly taking on more responsibilities. 

You will be joining the E&P Portfolio team and will be working in a matrix delivery organisation that combines industry experts into an effective delivery unit. You will be involved in the estimating, planning, site management, management of sub-contractors, contract management, coordination of works as well as internal development and improvement projects.

  • Working as part of a team to deliver LV E&P and Signalling Power installation projects and tender packages
  • Planning and coordinating design and construction activities
  • Liaising with stakeholders to ensure robust collaboration and engagement.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
  • Take on various placements throughout our business to gain a broad view of the many disciplines our business relies on to achieve success including Product suppliers, Engineering, Major Programmes, etc.
  • Work closely with the department leadership team in developing communications to the wider business and within the team
  • Work closely with teams from other departments, coordinating their support on our various projects
  • Develop and deliver reporting to allow clear visibility of project status, success criteria and key performance indicators across our business

Essential skills and attributes

We are seeking innovative and inquisitive candidates that demonstrate the following:

  • Achieved or be on track to achieve a 2:2 or above in a Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or Business Management related degree.
  • Logical thinking, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change
  • Enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions
