Severn Trent is a FTSE 100 company with a small but mighty all-encompassing Legal department that focus on areas such as Corporate Law, Compliance, Litigation, and Regulatory Affairs. Our Summer Placement Programme offers the perfect blend of personal and professional development, exposing you to the core of our business. The 8 or 12 week programme will allow you to work on real life challenges and projects that impact our core business functions. 

Our General Counsel Team at Severn Trent focuses on providing comprehensive legal support across the company. This includes managing corporate governance, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, handling litigation and disputes, and advising on regulatory matters. The Legal team works closely with all departments to mitigate risks and support strategic initiatives. 

Through working in the Legal department, you will gain great oversight of an interesting regulated and growing business. We welcome all applicants from diverse backgrounds, as we know diverse minds bring new ideas and a different way of thinking. 

How will the programme work?

You will be based at Severn Trent Centre in Coventry, the heart of our operating patch. You will be able to complete either an 8 week or 12 week placement depending on your preference as well as what the business area currently has on from a project perspective. 

In this exciting programme, you will have the chance to discuss your development and career ambitions in your 1-1 meetings with business leads, mentors, and the New Talent Team. 

About the placement 

  • Location: Severn Trent Centre, Coventry, CV1 2LZ 
  • Programme Duration: 8 or 12 weeks 
  • Starting Salary: £22,011 pro rata 
  • Entry Criteria: Studying for a degree ideally in Law or a related field. You must be currently studying at a UK university and be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
