Our Summer Placement Programme offers the perfect blend of personal and professional development, exposing you to the core of our business. The 8 or 12 week programme will allow you to work on real life challenges and projects that impact our core business functions.
Human Resources at Severn Trent focuses on attracting, developing, and retaining the best talent. This includes managing employee relations, overseeing recruitment processes, designing and delivering training programs, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Communications involves managing both internal and external communications to ensure clear, consistent, and effective messaging. This includes handling media relations, crafting internal newsletters, managing social media channels, and supporting corporate branding initiatives.
Through working in Human Resources and Communications, you will gain great oversight of an interesting regulated and growing business.

How will the programme work?
You will be based at Severn Trent Centre in Coventry, the heart of our operating patch. You will be able to complete either an 8 week or 12 week placement depending on your preference as well as what the business area currently has on from a project perspective.
In this exciting programme, you will have the chance to discuss your development and career ambitions in your 1-1 meetings with business leads, mentors, and the New Talent Team.
About the placement
- Location: Severn Trent Centre, Coventry, CV1 2LZ
- Programme Duration: 8 or 12 weeks
- Starting Salary: £22,011 pro rata
- Entry Criteria: Studying for a degree ideally in Human Resources, Communications, Business Studies, or a related field. You must be currently studying at a UK university and be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
