At Springtown Industrial Estate in Derry/Londonderry, using some of the most advanced technology in existence, we develop and manufacture the recording heads which write information onto and read information from the recording disc inside a computer’s hard drive. This facility is the largest of its type in the industry, supplying over a million heads every day for Seagate disc drives.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern wishing to take on an 11-month placement commencing on 1st September 2025 to join our team based in Springtown.
You will
- You will work alongside Engineers, Manufacturing Management and Subject Matter Experts within a highly complex multiple re-entrant environments to formulate and deploy optimal solutions for improved operational efficiency within the Wafer Fab.
- Your role could include projects focused on increased capital utilization, improved direct labour efficiency, reduced cycle time and improved yields.
About you
- You will currently be studying an Engineering or Science related degree programme
- Strong communication and teamwork skills and desire to work in high tech manufacturing environment
Your experience includes
Currently undertaking bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Science related degree programme

This is a Full-Time position working 39 hours per week, on-site working. The placement dates are: Starting on Monday, 1st September 2025 and finishing Friday, 21st August 2026
