Working in our Onshore Environment and Sustainability Team within ScottishPower Renewables, you will be an advocate for our business, ensuring that our renewable generation has a minimal impact on our environment.

Our team plays a vital role in driving our business towards a more sustainable future, aligning our supply chain with sustainable objectives and championing initiatives to reduce carbon emissions.

Whether it's supporting the delivery of our projects during construction or managing our operational windfarms, solar generation or battery energy storage systems, your dedication to the environment and sustainability will be crucial and we’re looking for a graduate who shares our passion.

What you’ll be doing

As a Sustainability Graduate, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our efforts to achieve Net Zero and support the ScottishPower Action 2030 Sustainability Strategy. Collaborating closely with a team of professionals, you’ll be involved in a range of key sustainability initiatives, reporting and compliance activities. This may include emissions reductions and the circular economy activities.

You’ll support several activities to evaluate our adherence with environmental regulations and standards. These activities play an essential role in ensuring that we meet our environmental and sustainability obligations, manage risks, and continuously improve our environmental performance.

You’ll also assist with the development of several of our sustainability initiatives and preparation of sustainability reports, providing information on the company's environmental, social and governance performance to our stakeholders, investors, and regulatory bodies.

As a business, we’re committed to delivering our projects with sustainability as a fundamental consideration; ensuring that we meet our environmental obligations; and minimise the impact of our business on the environment. And your role will be vital in educating our projects on the environmental and sustainability agenda.

We have several exciting projects at various stages of the project life cycle as we design, develop, construct, and operate onshore windfarms, solar generation and battery energy storage systems. And as you’ll support, you’ll gain insight and develop understanding of the whole project life cycle, learning how to identify associated environmental and sustainability considerations.

What you’ll bring

You’ll need to be passionate about sustainability and eager to make a difference. You’ll be working with all sorts of people, both inside and outside the company, like project managers, senior management, and supply chain contacts, so having great communication and people skills is super important.

Being good with data and paying attention to the little details will help you handle tasks like data collection, analysis, reporting, and compliance. Plus, a strong academic background in a related field—like Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Geography, Sustainability, or something similar.

Minimum Criteria - Honours Degree (or equivalent) at a minimum of 2:2 in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Geography, Sustainability or similar.
