As a Distribution and Transmission Network Operator, SP Energy Networks (SPEN) keeps the electricity flowing to homes and businesses throughout Central and Southern Scotland, North Wales, Merseyside, Cheshire, and North Shropshire.
One of only six Distribution Operators and one of four Transmission Operators in the UK, our actions are crucial to the decarbonisation of the network. The energy landscape is rapidly transforming as the methods our customers and communities use to generate, consume, and engage with energy undergo significant changes.
Our team in SPT Major Projects is the dynamic Engineering and Construction arm of SPEN, driving large-scale Construction Design and Management (CDM) projects that enhance energy infrastructure. We collaborate on multi-million-pound initiatives, overseeing everything from refurbishing substations to building new overhead lines and underground cables.
We engage with various subcontractors and conduct site inspections across the beautiful network, from Stirling to the Scottish Borders. By closely partnering with engineering, project management, and construction teams, we ensure effective planning and compliance with quality standards.
Focused on problem-solving and driving positive outcomes, we manage multiple projects at different stages—development, tender, construction, and commissioning—while ensuring timely production of quality documentation and targeted site inspections.
