On this programme, you'll be part of our Internal Audit Team within the Infrastructure part of our business.

The team - Group Internal Audit

The role of Group Internal Audit is to provide independent and objective challenge to, and assurance over, the Schroders Group's control environment through the evaluation of risk management, control and governance arrangements implemented by management.

The department is led by the Head of Group Internal Audit who has a primary reporting line to the Chairman of the Board Audit and Risk Committee, with a secondary line to the Group Chief Executive. The Internal Audit Intern reports to one of the department's Internal Audit Managers, and will have the opportunity to work on a range of audits including across the asset management division's investment, operations, technology and client group functions.

What you'll do

Your main role will be to support the delivery of audits as allocated by the Internal Audit Manager. This will include a range of activities and some of the tasks you'll be involved in are:

  • Researching the activities being audited by spending time with the area of the organisation being audited.
  • Reviewing policies, processes and standards related to the activity being audited.
  • Obtain relevant information for specific audit assignments by analysis and interpretation through face-to-face, email and other forms of data gathering practices.
  • Documenting business processes and control environments through process mapping.
  • Performing tests and reviewing results to evaluate the effectiveness of controls.
  • Assisting with the delivery of internal audit findings, including written internal audit reports.
  • Assisting with managing the tracking of issues and actions arising from internal audit work.
