Location
SLB Cambridge Research (SCR) is part of SLB’s global network of research and engineering centres. SCR is a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment with state-of-the-art research and computing facilities. We work on applied research projects in the physical sciences to meet the current and future challenges of the industry.
Description & Scope
You will be part of the multi-disciplinary team developing technologies for geothermal as well as oil and gas, as well as pursuing fundamental research in rock cutting physics.
Deliverables
- Planning and carryingout experimental work.
- Record & process the data
- Scan test results
- Calculate and compare efficiency
- Simulate the experimental test model in ANSYS
- Internal Report: summarizing the work and findings
- Peer Review: presented to the whole site
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Studying for a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Modelling and Simulation or a related discipline
- Oral and written communication skills in English
- Good motivation, autonomy, teamwork, and ingenuity
- Mechanical design
- Practical skillset (comfortable working in a lab with basic hand tools and equipment)
- Data processing and analysis (Matlab or Igor preferable)
- Programming (knowledge of LabView desirable but not essential)
- Modelling and simulation in ANSYS or Abacus desirable
