SLB Cambridge Research (SCR) is part of SLB’s global network of research and engineering centres. We work on applied research projects in the physical sciences to meet the current and future challenges of the industry.

Description & Scope

​​​​​​Interns will be mentored and responsible for developing aspects of mathematical modelling of multiphase fluid flow related to SLB business. Interns will interact with scientists to support them in developing prototype solutions by building first-principle or data-driven models using commercial or custom-built CFD software as well as other modelling packages.

Deliverables

  • Building mathematical models for testing of concepts related to multiphase fluids for a variety of real-world business systems
  • Support scientists on numerical characterisation of fluid flow, matching data to experimental or field data, comparison of different fidelity models
  • Present demos to visitors and internal stakeholders

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree - (Penultimate or Final year) in Mathematics, Fluid Mechanics, Physics or a related discipline
  • Passionate interest in mathematical modelling
  • Experience with modelling software (COMSOL, Fluent, Matlab, etc.)
  • Willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills
