As an Industrial Placement in the UK & Ireland Regulatory Affairs team, you’ll gain invaluable experience and insights into the inner workings of the pharmaceutical industry at our fabulous Reading Head Office.
The Regulatory Affairs Department is responsible for supporting all the business units within Sanofi in both the UK & Ireland, through applying for and maintaining a diverse portfolio of marketing authorisations.
This portfolio enables the team to work across human health, from vaccines to rare disease and standard-of-care medicines, and support Sanofi’s mission as an emerging leader in immunology poised to transform medicine by rebalancing the immune responses that cause systemic chronic diseases. We support the business by driving the following key activities:
- Portfolio development and maintenance to ensure continued patient access.
- Compliance activities to retain alignment with legislation and internal requirements.
Expected interview assessment day: 19th November 2024. Start date for the internship: July 2025.

Main responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of the regulatory requirements for MAs in the UK & Ireland.
- Assist and provide support in the co-ordination, preparation, submission and follow up of applications to the regulatory authorities.
- Support the launch of new products and lifecycle management of the existing portfolio.
- Proactively collaborate with members of the global and local business to meet project needs.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with the regulatory authorities in both UK & Ireland to support innovative registrations and continuity of supply.
- Carry out administrative activities (including records management) to ensure the effective and compliant operation of the department and company.
- Support the delivery of training to internal colleagues, including the training of the next cohort of regulatory affairs industrial placements.
About you
- Education: The applicant should be studying for a Life Science degree, either as an undergraduate (BSc) or an integrated postgraduate (integrated MSc) and returning to study at university after the placement has been completed.
- Soft and technical skills:
- Ability to understand and interpret scientific information and reports.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail, ability to manage several parallel priorities and flexibility to adapt in a dynamic environment within a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills when working with a diverse team.
- Demonstrate basic understanding of the key principles of diversity, equity and inclusion and ethical leadership, and be able to reflect on how to apply these within the role.
