The opportunity
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Product Specification Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing and maintaining product specifications for a variety of customers, including M&S (Find), Co-op (Co-op Core), Sainsbury’s (Evolve), Morrison’s (Mcreate), Tesco (TDQ), and Waitrose (Product Pathway Specification System). You will also work on product specification systems for Aldi and Lidl, as well as for other smaller accounts and food service customers.
Key responsibilities:
- Product Specifications: Complete and maintain detailed product specifications for multiple retail and food service customers.
- Recipe Management: Draw up and maintain recipes for factory use, coordinating with the process team to compile necessary information, including shelf life and analytical results.
- Customer Interaction: Engage with customers via Teams and in person to ensure all product specifications are approved and finalized.
- Artwork Management: Generate and review product artwork to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
- Critical Path Management: Coordinate and manage project timelines, ensuring all tasks are completed according to agreed critical paths.

- Must have a good analytical might set and good attention to detail, and good understanding of food law.
- Be adaptable to working in a fast-paced environment and working to different and sometimes demanding timeframes and be good at managing different work criteria.
- Ideally a Degree in Food science and/ or a HND in Food Science; although candidates with different degrees based in a skills-based background will be considered.
