Role and Responsibilities

What will this role achieve?

Samsung is directly affected by a wide range of laws and regulations, as well as constantly changing demands from customers and other partners. The Sustainability and Compliance Placement is needed to support the Sustainability, Compliance and Health & Safety Managers, ensuring that compliance requirements are met, support the development/ implementation of policies and strategies to address legal obligations, and work with both external partners and internal teams to support the diverse needs of the business. As a member of the SEUK Legal, Compliance and Sustainability team, you will be helping deliver innovative programmes to ensure SEUK is at the forefront of industry best practice.

What will be your key deliverables?

As a Sustainability and Compliance placement you will be involved in the following activities:

  • Reviewing, administering and improving SEUK’s compliance policies and processes.
  • Providing general administrative support, including the co-ordination of compliance training delivery.
  • Proactively engaging colleagues by providing support and guidance to ensure best practice.
  • Monitoring legislative changes and updating compliance registers. Researching other legal and regulatory developments which could impact SEUK’s compliance polices and processes.
  • Conducting audits to assess the effectiveness of SEUK’s compliance policies and processes.
  • Reporting on compliance issues.

  • Creative thinker with confidence to create processes to support business needs.
  • Strong project management skills.

What does success look like?

You are expected to be patient, pragmatic, flexible, persuasive, detail focused and be able to explain legal and compliance issues in clear terms that are easily understood. They need to be able to work under their own initiative although the role is to function and be integrated within a close knit team.

The majority our opportunities are based in Chertsey, Surrey. Our offices are located in beautiful grounds, and within easy reach of London, just outside the M25. Our on-site restaurant serves a wide range of delicious meals, including South Korean and Western options.
