WRc (Water Research Centre) part of the RSK Group is hiring for Graduate Consultants to join our 3 Year structured Early Careers Programme for our 2025 September intake based in Swindon, Stirling or Manchester. While the team is based in both Swindon, Stirling and Manchester, much of the work is carried out remotely, and WRc are flexible in the approach to office working.

The Early Careers Programme

Working within Water, Environment and Scientific Services, depending on your skills and experience, you will support the project teams in some of the following areas and working alongside an eperienced team, getting involved in an array of projects!

  • Environmental geoscience and hydrology and environmental impact assessment
  • Water and wastewater treatment process audit and optimisation
  • Water microbiology and public health
  • Toxicology and chemical risk assessment
  • Water quality and customer acceptability
  • Fieldwork and laboratory
  • Bid writing
  • Client engagement
  • Academic liaison

Person specification

  • Educated to degree level in a mathematics, scientific, geography or engineering subject
  • Highly numerate, with experience using programming languages such as Python and R.
  • Successful candidates will need to be flexible and willing to spend time in other offices. This is to gain a full understanding of new projects and different clients, which will provide fresh experiences and support your development.
  • Computer literate and demonstrably able to use Microsoft Office (Including Excel and Access).
  • Written and spoken English, having other languages is desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to summarise information and explain to both technical and non-specialist audiences.
  • A Full UK Driving License is desirable but not essential.
  • You will be self – motivated, flexible, and reliable with good problem-solving skills.
