We are seeking applications for a Financial Payments & Banking Assistant who will work as part of a small team in the Financial Operations Department, part of Financial Close, Production and Reporting.

The role will provide exposure to processing customer payments, cheque printing, banking, and working together to meet daily deadlines and providing a high level of internal and external customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a first step towards a career in Finance.

This is Job Share 21hours per week based in our Nether Alderley office.

About the role

  • First stage input of electronic customer payments via various on-line Bank and in-house systems.
  • Cheque printing and enveloping in preparation for mailing out to clients.
  • Preparation and processing of cheque stops and cancellations.
  • Banking of customer’s cheques/cash into the various company bank accounts.
  • Operational account funding. Company bank accounts are monitored daily to ensure all accounts maintain appropriate balances with surplus funds made available for investment. Processing of necessary payments and transfers to achieve this.
  • Dealing with enquiries from Customer Service Teams relating to customer payments.
  • Supporting wider Finance Operations initiatives, reconciliations, and competency matrix.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy is key.
  • Flexible attitude in respect of work requirements as several key responsibilities require attendance in the office.
