The role

Working as a placement student in a team of brilliant software engineers you will use your knowledge and skills to contribute towards the development of Rohde and Schwarz's Bluetooth test solutions and related software.

You will experience the full software lifecycle including design, development and testing in a dynamic, fast paced and supportive work environment.

Timescales: The industry placement will start at the beginning of July 2025 and run for 12 months to the end of June 2026.

Your tasks

  • As a member of the Bluetooth team you will be responsible for developing a number of measurement applications running on a variety of instruments.
  • You will be involved in the full lifecycle of a product from initial requirements through to product release and customer support.
  • You will help develop the architecture used for future projects
  • You will be working with the latest and upcoming wireless and telecommunication technologies.
  • Depending on your current task you will be able to work independently or co-operatively as part of a larger team.
  • Ability to be flexible and enjoy the challenges of working in a dynamic environment.
  • A desire to contribute to process improvement in order to achieve high quality products developed in a timely manner.

Your qualifications

  • To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • To be studying for a degree in computer science or electronic engineering.
  • Have strong C++ programming skills.
  • Some knowledge of Windows and/or Linux knowledge.
  • Experience in real-time software development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
