Due to our continuing success and growth, we are now looking for a talented Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our cost management team.
This role will offer you the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects including residential, healthcare, blue light, industrial, retail, hotel, and leisure among others. You will work with a diverse client base and will be part of our developing and specialist team of enthusiastic surveyors, providing all cost management services.
As part of your career development, you will be supported by Ridge to becoming a chartered Quantity Surveyor.
What you need to do to be effective in this role
- Preparation of order of cost estimates and cost plans
- Providing professional advice on all costs involved in building projects
- Providing professional advice on implications of different construction methods, materials etc
- Evaluation of proposal options with advice and recommendation on the most efficient solution
- Providing professional advice on contract arrangements and conditions under which the building will be constructed.
- Managing the procurement and tendering process to select the best contractor for the project
- Managing the commercial aspects of projects on site including valuations of work completed, assessments of variations and the preparation of final accounts
The skills and experience you need to have for this role
- Relevant degree or evidence that you are working towards this
- Foundation level experience / knowledge of the building and construction industry
- You will be expected to demonstrate your desire to becoming a chartered Quantity Surveyor.
