This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work as part of the Commercial team supporting the Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles UK (RMMV-UK) business.

    The successful candidate will manage effective performance of commercial activities across a portfolio of military contracts with the UK Ministry of Defence (UK MoD). They will work closely with the Programme management team and other business functions to provide competitive advantage whilst meeting contractual obligations. The role will span the product life cycle including agreements, bid support, programme delivery and support contracting.

    Position responsibilities

    • Commercial Point of Contact within RMMV-UK for the GSV long term support contract with the UK MoD.
    • Completion and/or provision of information to the negotiation of terms and pricing in support PDS Tasks.
    • Assistance to and provision of information to negotiations and decision making requiring escalation for resolution.
    • Work closely with Finance to ensure PDS invoices are raised and processed in accordance with the Contract.
    • Responsible for existing commercial relationships with customers.
    • Generation of business case models and gaining approval, ensuring commercial sign off in accordance with the Delegation of Authority, and preparation and issue of commercial proposals.
    • Contract review and management ensuring adherence to contractual requirements.
    • Presentation, analysis and interpretation of Contracts & Commercial data with recommendations for the way ahead to facilitate decision making.
    • Prepare contract summaries of new and existing contracts and brief multi-disciplined teams as to the obligations and commercial risks.
    • Providing commercial support and advice to multi-functional teams.
    • Drafting and negotiation of agreements and contract clauses in line with corporate guidelines.
    • Contract risk and opportunity management.
    • Conformance to commercial and business processes.
    • Sound knowledge and understanding of Export regulations within the military industry.

    Experience and educational requirements

    • The right candidate will be able to demonstrate their potential to succeed in a Commercial environment.
    • Experience of UK MoD contracting would be an advantage.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential as are good preparation and planning skills.
    • Enjoy working with customers and colleagues to reach agreement in a demanding environment.
    • An attention to detail and methodical approach, together with good problem solving and negotiation ability.
    • Understanding of pricing models.
