About the opportunity

The role will involve the opportunity to undertake environmental management and assessment with opportunities to work on both UK national project environmental impact assessments, and International environmental and social impact assessments. The team forms part of Ramboll’s global Impact Assessment Spearhead, a team of over 300 Impact Assessment specialists working across a broad range of sectors.

Key tasks and responsibilities will be

  • All stages of environmental impact assessment including screening, scoping and preparing Environmental Statements.
  • Environmental management to coordinate environmental disciplines and deliver baseline surveys – opportunities to support surveys in disciplines such as ecology, peat, noise and air quality.
  • Site inspections and walkover surveys.
  • Liaising with design and client teams to programme work and manage the delivery of surveys and of the Environmental Statement.
  • Drafting environmental impact assessment chapters, including Introductory chapters, cumulative assessment chapters and Non-Technical Summaries.
  • Opportunities to develop skills contributing to individual disciplines, and preparation of environmental chapters.
  • Support business development and the preparation of proposals.

Your skills and experience

For this role, we believe your starting point is:

  • A Bachelors or Masters level degree in one or more of the following subjects: Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Assessment and Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or Geography;
  • Have experience with IT packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Be numerically competent;
  • Possess excellent English communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Have excellent report writing skills

Selection process

We aim to have applications shortlisted by the beginning of March and we will invite successful candidates to an assessment centre at the beginning of April in our Edinburgh office.
