Through our Advancing Social Mobility programme you’ll complete a three-day experience which could lead to an offer to re-join us on a Summer Internship in 2026.
This programme is designed to inspire and support students from a lower socio-economic background seeking experience in professional services. This is part of our commitment to improve socio-economic diversity across the organisation. The programme focuses on developing confidence and skills and provides an insight into the opportunities available at PwC.
What you'll do
During this in-person, three-day, paid programme you’ll get an insight into what a career at PwC could look like. You’ll meet mentors and buddies who represent the variety of opportunities available across PwC. You’ll also meet colleagues from a diverse range of backgrounds to hear about their own personal career journeys, as well as hearing from some of our networks focused on Inclusion and Diversity. Through interactive sessions, the programme will help you to develop confidence in a business setting and encourage you to bring your whole self to the workplace. At PwC, we nurture an environment where our people can be the best they can be.
As our Advancing Social Mobility programme will be an in-person, three-day, paid programme, you’ll need to be in the UK in order to take part.
Programme dates
The Advancing Social Mobility programme runs from 14 - 16 April 2025.
Office locations
You’ll need to apply to your chosen Line of Service, and we’ll ask for your office preference locations during the recruitment process. If you successfully complete the recruitment process we’ll then let you know which office you’ll be based in during the three-day programme. Please be aware that we may not be able to offer you your top office location.
Please make sure to note the specific office locations in the job description where this programme is offered before applying.
What you'll need
To be eligible to apply for the Advancing Social Mobility programme you must:
- be in your first year of a three-year undergraduate degree (or in your second year of a four-year undergraduate degree); AND
- be on track to pass an undergraduate degree in any subject; AND
- have attended a state school between the ages of 11 and 16; AND
- the occupation of the main household earner when you were aged 14 categorises you as coming from a lower socio-economic background (according to the Social Mobility Commission guidance here); OR

By submitting an application, you are confirming that you will be available to complete a Summer Internship in 2026 should you receive a subsequent offer.
If you’re not currently studying towards a degree unfortunately you’ll not be eligible for this programme but don’t forget to look at our School and College Leaver opportunities.
How to apply
To join the Advancing Social Mobility programme, you'll need to complete two stages of our selection process; online tests and video interview.

We may close for new applications if we’ve received a high volume of applications so we therefore recommend applying early. Please take note of the completion deadlines in your invitation email for every application stage.
If you're successful we will let you know by the beginning of March and you'll then be invited to the three-day, paid spring programme.
