Based in Barrow-in-Furness and with five offices across the Furness Peninsula and South Lakes, we are one of the largest independent solicitors, estate agents and financial service providers in the area. We are looking to recruit:

Paralegal/Law Graduate (Litigation)

We are looking for an experienced Paralegal or a recent Law Graduate with a keen interest in litigation to support our dedicated litigation team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist solicitors with the preparation and management of litigation cases, including drafting pleadings and court documents.
  • Conduct legal research to support ongoing cases, identifying relevant laws, precedents, and legal principles.
  • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are current and easily accessible.
  • Liaise with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information and provide case updates.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including assembling exhibits, preparing trial bundles, and coordinating logistics.
  • Attend court hearings and client meetings, taking notes and providing support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a paralegal or a law degree (2:1 or above) with a focus on litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of litigation processes, court procedures, and legal terminology.
  • Familiarity with civil procedure rules and court processes.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent typing and IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems (you will be completing your own administration tasks initially).
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
