PitchBook is looking for a Private Capital Markets Research Summer Intern to assist the PitchBook Institutional Research Group in researching and publishing new products for the venture capital and private equity markets. This internship will give hands-on experience with private market investment research and analysis through the exploration of the private capital markets within the context of PitchBook data.
At the end of the process, you will have an understanding of how best to generate insightful analysis from data within the framework of macroeconomic data, unique market ecosystems, and investor-specific investment strategies. Our Summer Internship is a full-time, 10-week program (40 hours per week) running from June – August 2025 (specific dates vary by office location). Please note, at this time PitchBook does not provide relocation assistance for our internships.
Primary job responsibilities
- Assist team with research and analysis covering alternative investments with an emphasis on private equity and venture capital
- Utilize proprietary PitchBook data, the internet, newspapers, academic white papers, public and private company research notes, economic indicator forecasts, etc. to inform and develop actionable analysis
- Work closely with team to develop frameworks for new research products
- Connect with investors and relevant market participants to add valuable insights to analysis
- Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
- Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested
About you
Required qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a higher education program (college or university) with one remaining year left after the internship ends: Business, Economics, Finance and related majors preferred
- To be considered for the intern position, applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United Kingdom on a full-time basis upon hire. PitchBook will not consider candidates for this position who require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., Graduate or Skilled Worker Visa). The company may in its sole discretion extend your contract for a further fixed term period(s) to be agreed by you and the Company
Preferred qualifications
- Strong interest in private equity, venture capital, growth equity, and M&A
- Experience with written analysis
- Detail-oriented and analytical mindset
- Self-motivated, persistent, and goal-oriented attitude and can work effectively as an individual or as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily
Working conditions
We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it’s helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week.
The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3 days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.
The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
