Pick Everard are now recruiting a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our expanding engineering team in Leicester for our September intake in 2025.

The role

This role will give you the knowledge, qualifications, and valuable support for a career in civil engineering. You will have support to achieve your Chartered status, with mentors for both IStructE and ICE, and access to regular workshops and seminars tailored to signing off the core objectives as part of the Chartership process.

Our civil engineering discipline delivers for a multitude of schemes to include; Highways, Urban Infrastructure, Water, Environmental and Transportation. You will have the opportunity to work on an array of projects across a variety of sectors to include healthcare, residential, commercial, leisure and defense.

As Graduate Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for

  • Preparing CAD drawings/Revit models from engineer’s sketches
  • Assisting Civil Engineers to create pipeline plans, drainage plans, simple surfaces and road layouts using Civil 3D software
  • Undertakes analysis and design calculations / drawings, reports and contract documents under supervision
  • Assists in the management of projects including having a financial understanding
  • Assists in on-site survey and inspection work when required
  • Checks drawings/schedules prepared by others
  • Responsible for ensuring that they understand and comply with all Health & Safety requirements, practices and procedures

About you

We are looking for a motivated and forward-thinking Graduate who is open to a fantastic opportunity to develop their career.

Our ideal Graduate Civil Engineer will

  • Be working towards a Degree in Civil Engineering, 2:1 MEng or MSc level is preferable
  • Have experience using AutoCAD/Revit - Desirable
  • Be a confident verbal communicator with strong communication skills

It would be good for you to have

  • Understanding of construction practicalities and detail standards
  • Understanding of engineering civil drawings
  • Great spatial and design skills to be able to visualise projects in 2D and 3D
  • Self-motivated and driven for progressive and continued learning
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage time with multiple tasks
