To be considered for our graduate programme you will need:

  • A 2:1 degree or above in any discipline and from any university
  • 3 A levels at grades A-C
  • A genuine interest in our industry and a desire to help meet the housing needs of the UK

  • An enthusiastic approach and lots of initiative
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills
  • Flexibility to undertake some travel in the UK during your programme
  • A full driving licence, with a maximum of 3 penalty points, and access to your own vehicle (upon starting the programme)

The benefits of a rotational training programme

Based in one of Persimmon’s operating businesses you’ll follow a structured training plan which enables you to spend time in every function before deciding which one best matches your skills and interests.

The beauty of a rotational scheme is that you’ll get to know everyone in your local office, see how all the different departments work and how they fit together, and think about which area of the business will best suit you.

It’s challenging when you come straight out of university to know exactly what you want to do, so this way you can try all the different areas during year 1 before specialising more in year 2.

During the different placements you’ll be closely supported and given projects and responsibilities of your own, where you can really shine.

The key areas you'll cover include:

  • Land and Planning
  • Technical
  • Construction
  • Commercial
  • Finance
  • Sales
  • Customer Care

Support and additional development

In addition to your placements in each function there will also be other development opportunities, including meetings with senior directors, training courses, webinars and both internal and external conferences.

You will be closely supported throughout your programme, with monthly review discussions with the Group Director of Talent and Diversity and joint activities with the other graduates in your cohort.

When you progress into year two, you will focus on one or two of the departments where your skills and knowledge are more suited. Our development programmes are bespoke to the individual graduate, so we will work together to find the best pathway for you.
