We are seeking a Rights Assistant to join the team selling translation rights for Quadrille books to publishers around the world, on a Fixed Term basis to September 2025.

The role

Customer care is an important aspect of this exciting and varied role and you will be communicating with overseas customers on a daily basis. You’ll take charge of a range of tasks related to our co-edition print business, manage multiple projects at any one time and work to deadlines that enable the team to deliver a high quality of service to our customers.

Reporting to the Head of Foreign Rights and providing key administrative and sales support to the Foreign Rights team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising between overseas publishers and internal stakeholders, including the production, design and editorial teams, to ensure the smooth running of co-edition sales fulfilment.
  • Collating and submitting digital sales materials and sample copies
  • Updating departmental progress reports and sales databases
  • Organising book fair and sales trip schedules on behalf of the Foreign Rights Team
  • Assisting with the organisation of a company presence at international book fairs
  • General administrative support.

What you’ll bring

The role requires confident communication and collaboration skills as you will need to build close relationships with existing and potential customers, as well as key internal stakeholders. Some other key skills needed include:

  • Proactiveness and organisation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to manage a varied workload with flexibility and resourcefulness, and to prioritise effectively
  • The ability to work in a busy environment and be a team player

You don’t need publishing experience to be considered for this role as we will provide the necessary training, so if you have a genuine passion for books and enjoy getting to know and talking to people, this could be the role for you!

  • Demonstratable interest in selling rights and in Quadrille
  • Proven written ability showcased through your application
  • Experience/ Knowledge of MS Office Excel/Word/ Outlook
  • Demonstrable understanding of managing multiple stakeholders at varying seniorities
  • Demonstrable communication skills

Hybrid working: We’re experimenting with a hybrid way of working that suits the needs of each team. While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role, you will work a minimum of 3 days a week from our London offices, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
