Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, the Tor Marketing Executive role sits within the Pan communications team, working closely with other teams across the business.

Your role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Executive to join the expanding Pan communications team. You will be working on a broad range of fiction titles for our sci-fi and fantasy imprint Tor, with the occasional opportunity to work on books across other imprints within the Pan division. As well as developing your own sales-driving campaigns, you will be supporting senior marketers to deliver campaigns for some of our biggest books.

Your key responsibilities

  • Working closely with the marketing team to plan and implement audience-focused, creative and effective campaigns for a wide range of sci-fi and fantasy titles in close collaboration with the publicity and digital teams
  • Writing compelling, eye-catching copy for a variety of marketing purposes, including book proofs, social content, advertising and more
  • Creating effective, attention-grabbing assets for your titles and, where appropriate, briefing external designers and producers to create a range of exciting marketing materials
  • Identifying and honing the most appropriate messaging and targeting for paid social and Amazon advertising campaigns, and briefing the digital team accordingly
  • Working on your own list of titles, whilst supporting the team in the implementation of our biggest and boldest campaigns
  • Helping to maintain the Tor social media channels - creating engaging and effective content to grow our online communities

Essential experience abilities and knowledge you’ll need to succeed

  • An avid reader, with a passion for sci-fi and fantasy books and an interest in the UK book market
  • Resilient and able to work under pressure, highly organised and time-efficient with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong copywriting skills and an eye for design
  • A collaborative attitude and strong communication skills
  • A creative mindset and ability to generate fresh, innovative ideas

Desirable skills we’d love you to have

  • Experience in Photoshop or similar design applications desired
  • Experience with social media management is also desirable

This is a full time, permanent role, and will be based in our offices in Farringdon, London, with some flexibility to work from home each week.
